Ferndale, MI – Industrial Filling

• Inspect cylinders before filling, following government, Airgas, and distributor procedures; perform safety checks such as odor tests and valve inspections.
• Analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
• Handle high‑pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders; prepare high‑pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling; attach to manifold, evacuate cylinders, and fill by pressure and weight per regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading cylinders on pallets and tractor trailers; operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Manage paperwork for DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets.
• Understand hazards of various gases, read and interpret cylinder labels and color‑coding, and label cylinders accurately.
• Comply with all government and company standards for safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders to customer locations; record deliveries and pick‑ups; obtain customer signatures; collect empty cylinders and return them for refilling.
• Establish and maintain good customer relations; resolve service inquiries and complaints.
• Communicate timely with management or the assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes or issues experienced by customers.
• Maintain load manifests and required vehicle documents; ensure vehicle manifests, placards, cylinder labeling, and load nesting comply with SAFECOR and all applicable regulations.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensuring all safety items are functional.

• Valid Class A Driver’s License.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake certifications (or willingness to obtain them).
• At least one (1) year of professional Class A driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record (no more than two convictions; or two at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years; or a combination of one conviction and one at‑fault accident in the last 3 years).
• Minimum age 21 years.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience.
