Part Time Reading Interventionist Description
The Ferguson-Florissant School District is a community of families and neighborhoods located in suburban St. Louis, MO. Fully-accredited by the state of Missouri, the district provides an excellent comprehensive educational program for nearly 10,000 students from preschool through 12th grade. As a Part Time Reading Interventionist, you will work with students in small groups or individually to help close reading gaps using evidence-based interventions aligned with Missouri Learning Standards. The position requires appropriate Missouri teaching certification and a strong understanding of foundational reading instruction, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies within an RTI/MTSS framework.

Continued employment is subject to annual evaluation in alignment with this job description and is contingent upon the annual allocation of federal funding for the position.

Retirement:PSRS
Salary:$45/hours ($27,000 per year maximum) based on education, experience, and certifications
Calendar:10-month (August-May)
EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or reading required
- Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards for English Language Arts required
- Experience with phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension instruction required
- Training in the Science of Reading, LETRS, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or other structured literacy programs preferred
- Training in or familiarity with data-driven instructional models (e.g., RTI/MTSS) preferred
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate in one of the following:
- Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade
3) required - Special Reading Certification (K–12) preferred
