Revel Search is a premier recruiting firm with decades of industry experience, dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with innovative organizations. Our client, a rapidly growing, $5M landscaping firm in Southern Genesee County is looking for a Senior Landscape Designer who enjoys both design excellence and client-facing work — someone who can turn great ideas into great projects and confidently guide clients through decisions.
We specialize in high-end residential landscapes
, often ranging from $100K to several hundred thousand dollars. Our clients value creativity, craftsmanship, and thoughtful guidance — and we’re at a point in our growth where design and sales are becoming increasingly connected.
This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys working directly with homeowners, understands budgets, and sees opportunity in helping clients get more out of their investment.
RoleThis is a senior, hands‑on position that blends design leadership, client consultation, and revenue growth
.
You will:
- Meet with homeowners to evaluate properties, understand goals, and define realistic project scope and budget
- Create high‑end residential landscape designs from concept through execution
- Guide clients through options, materials, and phasing — helping them understand what's possible and what adds value
- Convert warm, inbound leads into well‑scoped, profitable projects
- Identify natural upsell opportunities where design enhancements make sense for the client
- Play an active role in growing project size and overall design revenue
- Mentor and support a junior designer as the design team expands
- Over time, take on increased responsibility on the sales side of the design business
, with the opportunity to help shape how projects are sold and presented
This is not a high‑pressure sales role — it’s consultative, relationship‑driven, and design‑led.
What We’re Looking For- Experience designing residential landscape projects (high‑end experience strongly preferred)
- Comfort meeting with homeowners and discussing scope, priorities, and budget
- Confidence presenting ideas and guiding decisions
- Strong design instincts with practical, buildable solutions
- Interest in the business side of design — including project growth and commissions
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality
- Leadership mindset and interest in mentoring others
- Competitive base salary, flexible based on experience
- Commission component tied to project growth and sales performance
- Company vehicle provided for site visits
- Benefits available and negotiable
- Established, financially strong firm with a clear growth plan
- Design‑forward work — not maintenance‑driven
- Large, high‑visibility residential projects
- Real influence on how design and sales evolve
- Opportunity to grow into a long‑term leadership role within the company
If you’re a landscape designer who wants creative freedom, client ownership, and a bigger role in how projects are sold and delivered
, this is a conversation worth having.
