HGV Driver Trainer – Container Division

Location:

Felixstowe based but flexible to visit other Turners depots when required.

Turners (Soham) Ltd, one of the UK’s largest privately‑owned transport companies, is looking to welcome a new HGV Driver Trainer in our Container division to our dedicated Training Team based in Felixstowe. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in developing the next generation of professional drivers.

We are seeking an experienced, confident, and safety‑focused driver who is passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others excel. The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ HGV driving experience (more preferred)
• A clean driving record with low infringements
• Strong, professional driving standards
• Excellent communication skills
• A solid understanding of road laws and regulations
• High attention to detail
• Patience and a supportive attitude
• Flexibility – this is a varied and dynamic role
• A proactive, team‑focused approach
• Good organisational skills
• A passion for developing others and promoting safe, professional driving
• Previous training experience is an advantage, but not essential for the right person

As part of the Turners Training Team, you will be involved in a range of key activities, including:

• Training and developing new drivers
• Conducting driver assessments
• Delivering classroom‑based training
• Providing CPC training
• Supporting driver interviews
• Helping to plan, design, and deliver training courses
• Contributing to the smooth and effective running of the Training Department

Hours:

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, though some flexibility may be required depending on operational needs. This is a full‑time, permanent position.
