JOB SUMMARY.

As a member of the Supportive Living NW team, the Medical Coordinator (Med Co) has the overall responsibility to provide the level of medical support necessary to people with disabilities to live a quality lifestyle in a non-facility-based residential model. The Medical Coordinator will ensure that all medical/health needs of the clients are met and documentation is maintained consistent with and in accordance with Supportive Living NW’s Policies & Procedures and WACS (Washington Administrative Code).

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
  • Manage assigned cases per requirements of the Medical Coordinator Job Description
  • Order all medication promptly and ensure supplies are adequately stocked in the home.
  • Report all medication errors as defined in the WAC and Supportive Living NW’s policies to your supervisor.
  • Arranges and facilitates medical appointments and coordinates staff members knowledgeable about the client to attend them.
  • Take steps necessary to ensure that client medications are effectively monitored.
  • Assures all medication orders and treatment plans are consistent with the physician's orders and in accordance with the DDA policy manual and WAC's.
  • Ensure MARs and Treatment Plans are accurate and completed on time.
  • Maintain all medical bills for the client.
  • Trains staff on medications, client specific assistive devices as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
QUALIFICATIONS.
  • Have a background inquiry clearance by the authorized state agency.
  • Exhibit mature behavior and the ability to make independent judgments.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to be an appropriate role model to clients and coworkers.
  • Be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Treat a client with dignity and consideration, always respecting the client’s civil and human rights.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    At least one(1) year of related experience is required.

    CPR and First Aid – current or ability to obtain/renew.

    NA-C, NA-R, or HCA.

    Driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
