POSITION OVERVIEW
Every student is capable of achieving academic success, yet the public education system was not designed to meet students of color where they dream — instead they marginalize them and underestimate their abilities. TAF partners with school districts, educators, and organizations to challenge the current public education system. We address the entire public education system, from top-to-bottom, providing STEM skills and equitable, anti‑racist education environments where all students can succeed and by working with emerging and established education leaders of color to improve representation at every level
- Co‑manage the TAF@Saghalie public STEM school where we provide industry‑relevant and equitable curriculum and experiences
- Partner with existing public schools and coach students and staff using our successful STEMbyTAF learning model
- Empower early‑career educators and established school leaders of color through educational equity and liberation pedagogy
The Leave to Learn (L2L) Program Manager (Temporary) will provide continuity for the TAF@Saghalie High School Leave to Learn program during the regular program manager’s FMLA leave. This position plays a critical role in maintaining student momentum by directly supporting students in securing informational interviews, job shadows, and internships aligned with their career interests. The temporary manager will coordinate ongoing program activities, maintain relationships with community and industry partners, engage new partners, track student progress, and facilitate exhibitions of learning.
This role requires someone who can quickly build rapport with students, families, and external partners while managing and troubleshooting the day‑to‑day operations of a new program serving grades 9‑12.
- Curate external experiences at local companies for students to have industry‑aligned experiences such as internships, job shadows, interviews, research, etc. based on student interest.
- Build and steward relationships with a variety of community partners related to student interests to be part of student panels, conduct workshops, and build relationships
- Partner with student advisors and high school teachers to help students identify their interests, make connections to content, and develop individual learning goals and projects around their interests aligned industry experiences.
- Track experience of students in their leaving to learn experiences
- Follow existing program structures with a lens for documenting opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate students obtaining informational interviews, job shadows and internship placements
- Manage record‑keeping of worksite learning agreements, worksite qualification forms, health and safety check‑lists, travel permission forms.
- Ensure all district and school protocols are followed for students leaving campus
- Maintain accurate databases for program participants and community parters
- Conduct regular site visits where students are participating in internships and document observations and follow‑up on action items
- Support management of Exhibitions during Student Led Conferences (April 1‑3, 2026)
- Support finalization of exhibition feedback rubrics and protocols
- Facilitate student completion of learning plans including documentation of evidence of learning
- Maintain and steward existing relationships with community and industry partners
- Build trusting relationships with TAF staff, teachers and school administration to enable discussion, reflection, and inquiry around the L2L program
- Work with community partners to effectively create, build and execute student interest aligned programs.
- Willingness to coordinate and supervise off‑site student experiences
- Foster effective and reliable communication between school administration, teachers, and TAF Staff, to relay information and respond to emerging needs
- Work with organizations to ensure volunteers represent and reflect the students in which they will be working with.
