About the Team

Gov Planet, a Ritchie Bros Company, specializes in helping state, local, and federal agencies, including military, efficiently sell surplus equipment such as material assets, excavators, trucks, and Humvees.

Our team manages the complex administrative and logistical operations associated with remarketing surplus equipment from government and public related agencies. Our focus is executing our core operational objectives allowing our customers to concentrate on their core business goals for a faster sale and higher return value.

Job Description

The CDL Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of company provided vehicles and trailers including securing loads, maintaining driver “E Logs”, pre-trip and post trip inspections, and scheduling maintenance on company equipment. Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner. Duties will also include loading and unloading trailers and performing lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight.

The CDL driver may also be required to meet with DLA and conduct Joint Inventory, in Iron Planet Net Suite application. The CDL Driver will be responsible for managing HOS and operating in compliance with FMCSA & Company Regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly joint inventory process with the DLA DISPOSITION SERVICES’ site POC and identify any item discrepancies.
  • Transport Iron Planet property from military installation and/or Iron Planet consolidation point to an Iron Planet storage facility
  • Complete Iron Planet’s inspections process for each item and ensure that all information is accurate for the property listing on Iron Planet’s marketplace
  • Comply with all company and DOT regulations regarding driving commercial vehicles (including but not limited to; vehicle inspection reports, maintaining driver logs and managing Hours of Service)
  • Identify and load property onto truck using best tie down practices for safe transport
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Drivers in this role should plan to be out at minimum M-F and be flexible to leave on a Sunday or get back on Saturday as business dictates
Qualifications
  • 5 years of heavy equipment or transportation industry experience.
  • Class A CDL License
