Position: University Recreation Graduate Assistant for Fitness

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Fitness in overseeing the daily functions of the personal training program
  • Supervise and manage a team of 10+ personal trainers, providing guidance and support
  • Administer fitness programs and maintain accurate records related to program participation and staff schedules
  • Foster a positive member experience through efficient service delivery
  • Create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with colleagues
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Admission to a graduate degree program prior to employment
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 40 days of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of collegiate recreation and fitness programming
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Current personal training and/or group fitness certification from an accredited fitness organization such as ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or NASM
  • Experience working in a Campus Recreation setting as a student employee
  • Experience in a leadership role within Campus Recreation
