Pool Title POOL - Scorekeeper/Clock Operator Pool Number S56-20 Announcement Summary
This is a continuous recruitment pool not specifically advertised.
The pool is continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates.
We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings.
This part-time position works under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The part-time Scorekeeper/Clock Operator is responsible for operating the scoreboard and maintaining records of scheduled (basketball/baseball/softball/volleyball) games coordinated by the Fayetteville Technical Community College Athletics Department.
Duties
The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned.
1. Operate the scoreboard in an accurate and efficient manner and complete a scorebook for each game.
2. Keep accurate records of each athletic contest including scoring, time-outs, fouls, time, etc.
3. Turn in paperwork and game results to designated supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 17 years of age
Must have knowledge of basketball/baseball/softball/volleyball sport specific rules.
Ability to see plays with sufficient clarity in order to maintain accurate scoring records
Ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to work indoors/outdoors at a variety of playing sites
Ability to tolerate and work with exposure to loud noises.
General knowledge of all NCAA and NJCAA competition guidelines related to game management.
Ability to communicate with various constituents; general public; students; coaches; administrators.
Strong work ethic.
Excellent organizational skills.
Customer service oriented.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office & Google applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within an intercollegiate athletic program
