Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Engineer, Senior

As a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Engineer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. We're looking for an experienced Senior RDT&E Engineer to support mission-critical research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts within special operations and intelligence community environments.

This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining secure, production-ready backend services and analyst-facing applications that integrate modern cloud, data, and AI-enabled capabilities into operational workflows. The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack engineering fundamentals, classified or sensitive mission environment work expertise, and the ability to translate operational requirements into reliable technical solutions.

You ll help our clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

• 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, testing, and implementing software programming applications
• 5+ years of experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks, including Python
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience developing solutions using Docker in a containerized environment
• Knowledge of Linux and working with Linux-based environments
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving mission contexts
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor s degree in a CS or Engineering field

• Experience supporting special operations or intelligence community missions
• Experience with AI/ML or LLM-enabled systems, including integration, orchestrations, or tooling
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Experience with async programming, background task processing, or data streaming
• Experience working in RDT&E or prototype-to-production environments
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams
• Experience managing Virtual Machines
• Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen s total compensation package for employees.
