Summary ofJob Duties
The Electrician I is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within the campus. This role requires a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. May work on campus generators and maintain associated records. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License according to ACA 17-28-304
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least four years of experience in electrical trade
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least six years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repairs
- Successful completion of an Electrical Apprentice Program
- Experience in control technology – fire alarms, access control, and cameras
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and other components
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and tools
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs
- Plan and execute electrical installations and repairs in accordance with local and national codes and regulations
