Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Epic experience and a NC or compact license.

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients with patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00–19:00) with every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibility for this position
• Floating within scope may be required between like units or to a sister campus
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue and white scrubs are required
• Pre-assignment modules (4-10 hours) must be completed prior to start
• Maximum 4 days RTO allowed per contract, with approval for only 1 holiday
• Vaccine exemption requests must be submitted promptly as approval is required before start
• Travelers may only extend once on day shift before a required break period
• Team-based environment with potential to float as needed

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must pass an advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• Cannot reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Return staff must be gone one year to return as a traveler and can only extend once on day shift
• Background and license hits within the last year are not accepted
