Overview
Operations Assistant Project Managers report to a Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager and assist in the management, performance and completion of assigned projects in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company. Ideal candidates possess in-depth knowledge of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials within the commercial construction industry. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Successful in previous positions

- Electrical license preferred but not required
- Support project management, performance and completion of assigned projects in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Possess knowledge of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems in commercial construction
- Superior verbal communication skills; ability to express thoughts clearly
- Excellent reading, writing, and comprehension skills
- Active/effective listening; ability to translate technical jargon into layman terms
- Keeps conversations on track; asks pertinent questions/follow-up questions

Additionally, the ideal candidate possesses the physical fitness and visual acuity necessary to perform the requirements of the position, e.g., survey electrical rooms, climb ladders, walk on rooftops, open electrical panels, read equipment nameplate data. Monitor and control the following Company policies and procedures:
- The Division Office Operations Procedures (General Policies and Operating Procedures)
- Vehicle usage
- The Hazard Communication Program
- The Quality Assurance Program
- The Substance Abuse Program
- The Safety and Hot Work Program
- Policies concerning suppliers
- Paperwork related to assigned jobs/work orders
- Adherence to the Division Calendar to meet weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules
- Profit/loss of assigned jobs; monitor and control job processing responsibilities
- Monitor and control estimating; assign estimators; ensure estimates are entered into the Estimate Log
- Ensure paperwork and procedures are adhered to; review and approve estimates and design/build projects
- Prepare, bid and re-estimate assigned jobs and work orders
- Recommend material, labor, and EPAs adjustments; prepare pay-request breakdowns and monthly pay requests
- Purchasing of all material for assigned projects and verification of orders
- Material approval submittal procedures; prepare, submittal and processing of change orders
- Accountable for project-related technical and engineering problems;
Monthly Job Status Updates and Post Job Conference Reports - Monitor expediting of materials and subcontracts; ensure satisfactory completion of assigned projects
- Monitor safety on the project and job security for materials, tools and equipment
- Address storage facilities, monthly productivity reports and overall efficiency of jobs/work orders
- Oversee wage rates, labor, training and supervision; ensure employees start and stop work on time
- Fleet management, storage facilities on job sites, and use of division tools, trucks and equipment
- Demonstrated success in previous positions
- Stable and steady employment history; logical reasons for employment changes
- Experience and background indicate the candidate can perform the job well
- Electrical license preferred but not required
