Business Intelligence Analyst

The Senior Report Writer / Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a lead expert in enterprise reporting and analytics, providing advanced data solutions that support strategic, operational, and executive decision‑making. This role requires deep technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, Ellucian Banner, and Argos, as well as the ability to mentor others, influence data standards, and partner closely with institutional leadership to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex, enterprise‑level SQL queries and reporting solutions.
• Architect and maintain advanced Power BI data models, DAX measures, and executive‑level dashboards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Ellucian Banner data, including student, finance, and HR modules.
• Develop advanced Argos reports, including complex data blocks and scheduled distributions.
• Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to define reporting strategies and performance indicators.
• Establish and promote reporting standards, visualization best practices, and data definitions.
• Extensive experience working with Ellucian Banner data.
• Advanced experience developing reports using Argos Enterprise.
• Review and validate high‑impact reports used for compliance, accreditation, and executive decisions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior analysts and report writers.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve data quality.
• Support data governance, security, and compliance requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years of progressive experience in reporting, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins and query optimization.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and row‑level security.
• Strong ability to communicate complex data insights to non‑technical audiences.

• Experience in higher education or large, complex enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.

• 5 years of progressive experience in reporting, business intelligence, or analytics roles – Required.
• 5 years of advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins and query optimization – Required.
• 5 years of advanced expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and row‑level security – Required.
• 5 years of extensive experience working with Ellucian Banner data – Required.
• 5 years of strong ability to communicate complex data insights to non‑technical audiences – Required.
• Experience in higher education or large, complex enterprise environments – Highly desired.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes – Highly desired.
