Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications, as well as Epic EMR experience.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital,

• Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00), with every other weekend required,

• Patient ratios are 1:4-5 in the PCU,

• Care for a step-down/telemetry patient population,

• Use of Epic charting system is required,

• Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister campuses as needed,

• Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted,

• Minimum of 2 years recent PCU or step-down experience required,

• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,

• Must pass EKG exam with no exceptions,

• Epic EMR experience is required,

• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this assignment,

• Background or license issues within the last year will not be approved,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment,

• Must adhere to Royal blue and white scrub dress code,

• Maximum of 4 days of requested time off, with approval for only 1 holiday off permitted,

• Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible as a traveler,

• Travelers may only extend their assignment twice on night shift, after which a 6-month break is required before returning,

• Pre-start online modules (4-10 hours) must be completed,

• Vaccination exemption requests must be submitted early to avoid onboarding delays,
