Overview

. This entry-level role is in big demand as one in 36 children are diagnosed with autism. As a Behavior Technician at Priorities, you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self-help skills through a play-based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Priorities has provided evidence-based, contemporary ABA therapy for over 20 years to help children with autism find success.

Responsibilities
  • Work with kids aged 2-18 with autism and special needs in their homes or in one of our centers.
  • Deliver play-based ABA therapy to help children develop communication, socialization, and self-help skills.
  • Collaborate with families and team members to support goals and progress.
Qualifications
  • Education requirements:

    High School Diploma or GED
  • Transportation requirements:
    Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred
  • Schedule requirements:
    Part-time (M-F 3pm-7pm) or other consistent weekly schedule; availability mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings
  • Starting pay:
    Earn $18+/hour with experience; become eligible to earn (RBT) certification
  • Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 on or before the first day of employment
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a background check
Additional details
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Experience or study in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or a related field is helpful
  • Experience working with children (babysitting, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or other childcare) is valuable
  • Supports a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, counseling, mental health, and related fields
  • Creating lasting, positive change for children and their families

Physical requirements vary by client assignment and may include lifting up to 35 pounds and being able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run as needed.
