Overview

The MRI Technologist is fully competent to perform all MRI routine procedures for the diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions.

• ARRT Registered or a Graduate from an Associate in Applied Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), required.
• AHA CPR provided by Cape Fear Valley Training and Development required at orientation and maintained.
• Any applicant not registered as an ARRT in MRI must provide documentation of application with the ARRT to sit for the MRI registry.
• Registered in MRI with the ARRT is required post one (1) year of hiring date. Failure to achieve registration post one (1) year will result in termination of employment.
• One to two years experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate orally and have manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Must have mobility to assume awkward positions and to respond to emergency situations.
• Must be able to bend and lift; must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to communicate with patients of all ages and provide care based on developmental needs (neonatal to geriatrics).
• Position may involve skin, eye, or mucous membrane contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.

• Perform MRI procedures for diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions.
