** Summary
* * Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.

Education:

* Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with appropriate clinical training in the testing of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients or have successfully completed at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
* MLT (ASCP) or MLT (NCA) registration or MLT eligible under ASCP or NCA.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Appropriate clinical training in the testing of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
* Possess skills for accepting responsibility, making decisions, and working as a team.
* Ability to operate equipment at sitting or standing levels.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work additional hours or shifts and under stress.
* Effective communications skills to include listening, writing, talking, and reading.  Ability to communicate via telephone, LIS, email and verbally.
* Knowledge of laboratory functions and specimen requirements
