Summary

Responsible for selling HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies over the phone and at the parts store. Responsible for vendor sales, inventory, purchasing, pricing, and warranty administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct sales of HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies over the phone and over the counter.
  • Order required parts.
  • Answer customer calls and identify parts.
  • Coordinate product promotions.
  • Load and unload shipment of parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Receive and process customer orders.
  • Respond to customer’s inquiries, questions, or complaints regarding products or services.
  • Responsible for warranty administration on all parts.
  • Record changes in inventory status by completing paperwork and updating database as necessary.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by recording quantities used and determining supplies needed.
  • Deliver parts orders to customer locations or job sites.
  • Respond to literature requests from customers.
  • Possess knowledge of the Trane product line to be able to demonstrate and discuss with customers.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Customer Service
  • Provide responsive, professional and diplomatic customer service.
  • Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly.
  • Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner.
  • Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long‑term customer relationships.
  • Immediately address any customer concern and request the involvement of other Company personnel as required.
Safety
  • Follow all company safety programs and report any non‑compliance to Store Manager.
  • Notify Store Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions.
Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • One‑year certificate from college or technical school in HVAC.
  • Three to five years parts counter or related experience.
Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required, as well as a general familiarity with computers, and the ability to learn new software applications.

  • Valid Driver's License
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
