Summary of
Job Duties:
As part of the Academic Advising Transfer Team, the Academic Advisor responsibilities include advising approximately 700-800 undergraduate business students which includes students who may be considering a transfer (new students) or transferring freshman. In addition, the Academic Advisor will teach three to four sections of Freshmen Business Connections (FBC) each fall semester; and assist in meeting with new and first-semester transfer students to ensure a smooth transition to the Walton College of Business.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least one year of experience working in a student services position in a higher education environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least three years experience in a student focused higher education role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Salary Information:
$46,382.69
