Primary Purpose of the Organization
The primary purpose of the Early Childhood Learning Center is to plan and implement a program that will enrich the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of children 0‑5; to be responsible for maintaining an environment that is free of danger; to have the ability to administer CPR and First Aid; to have basic computer knowledge and verbal / written communication skills;
and to provide education majors and individuals seeking Birth‑to‑Kindergarten certification/license with an opportunity to become familiar with the needs of young children and their characteristics and to translate theoretical concepts to practical application.
The primary purpose is to plan, prepare and document all meals for the Early Childhood Learning Center’s children and perform related work as required. The role includes overseeing operations of the food program—including hygiene, meal planning and preparation, food distribution to classrooms, supervision of student workers, record keeping, and all kitchen operations; ensuring adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsA high school diploma with at least 3 to 5 years of cook/nutrition experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Coursework and training in foods, nutrition and/or dietetics.
- Current Food Handlers Certificate at the time of hiring.
- Commitment to secure continuing education related to employment with the Early Childhood Learning Center.
