The Department of Communication, Languages, and Cultures support students in their academic and professional pursuits in Communication and Language Studies. We offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication and Media Studies, Spanish, and Spanish with Teaching Licensure (K-12). Our department is dedicated to providing high-impact instruction, practical experience, and effective advising. We offer state-of-the-art facilities, including a radio station, television studio, multimedia production lab, podcast studio, newsroom, and an Esports lab.
Our mission is to equip graduates with practical skills and knowledge for successful graduate studies and career advancement.
The Department of Communication, Languages, and Cultures at Fayetteville State University seeks a Fixed-Term faculty member starting in Fall 2026. The role involves teaching general education courses in public speaking and core and elective courses within the Communication and Media Studies program. Applicants with expertise in sports broadcasting or sports journalism will be given priority.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements- Lecturer: MA or MFA in Communication/Media Studies or a related field from an accredited institution, with graduate coursework and experience in the area of expertise.
- Adjunct Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Communication/Media Studies or a related field from an accredited institution, with graduate coursework and experience in the area of expertise.
Preferences will be given to those with degrees specializing in Journalism or Media Studies.
