Job Duties:

This position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment in the Fryar Price Risk Management Center of Excellence in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas. This appointment will be 80% Research and 20% teaching. Relevant expertise for consideration for this position may include price risk management, supply-chain management, the design and use of agricultural and financial derivative instruments for price risk management, behavioral or experimental approaches to risk assessment and management, applied risk modeling, commodity marketing, time-series econometrics, or related topics.

The successful candidate will develop a research program in one or more of these areas, regularly publishing in relevant peer-reviewed outlets and attracting extramural funding from competitive sources. This position will be responsible for teaching risk-management-related content at the undergraduate or graduate level and directing graduate student research.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

* An earned Doctorate in agricultural/applied economics, economics, finance, or related field from a nationally recognized and accredited institution at the time of hire

* Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication ability, quantitative skills, and experience in collaborative scholarship

* Commitment to the active pursuit of a scholarship agenda consistent with the Land Grant mission and leading to refereed publications, professional presentations, timely and relevant outreach programs and materials, innovative and effective resident instruction, and extramural funding

* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality
