Purpose:
The Department of Performing and Fine Arts is committed to building a community through the arts, fostering creativity, and engaging the local community. This role will teach undergraduate courses in digital arts (digital illustration, animation, interactive media, game design), design curriculum aligned with industry standards, and prepare students for careers in creative and tech‑driven fields.
- Teach a range of undergraduate courses in digital arts, including digital illustration, animation, interactive media, and game design.
- Shape the curriculum to reflect current industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Maintain inclusive, student‑centered learning environments.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance program relevance and assessment.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publication, or portfolio development related to digital arts.
- MFA in Digital Arts, Game Design, Interactive Media, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Strong portfolio of creative work or research in digital arts.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student‑centered learning.
- MFA in Digital Arts, Game Design, Interactive Media, or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in game design/animation.
- ≥5 years of teaching experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Strong portfolio of creative work or research in digital arts.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student‑centered learning.
- Knowledge of contemporary and relevant computer programs.
- Ability to maintain a collegial, diverse, and creative climate.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Artistic curiosity.
- Collaborative work style.
- Professional experience in game design, including proficiency with Unity, Unreal, level design, narrative design, and user experience.
- Experience with AR/VR, procedural generation, or AI‑enhanced creative tools.
- Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration or industry partnerships.
- Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
