Position: Head Start Lead Teacher 3-5

We seek highly motivated and enthusiastic early childhood educators to join our team. Duties
  • Design, plan, and implement the classroom program and daily activities. Write weekly lesson plans and appropriate IEPs.
  • Prepare and plan teaching materials to be utilized.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Supervise activities for all children throughout the entire day.
  • Monitor and evaluate each child’s physical, social, and emotional developmental domains and make referrals when necessary.
  • Maintain current, up-to-date records of each child’s development.
  • Plan, implement and document adequate educational home visits with parents twice a year for each child in the group.
  • Work cooperatively with the Assistant Teacher to plan, coordinate, and implement the education plan.
  • Plan and carry out room arrangements, curriculum, lesson plans, and enrichment activities for each child’s development.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Ga PDS account with a Career Level of 8 or higher.
  • Thorough knowledge of preschool children’s stages and levels of development.
  • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience with children three (3) to five (5) years of age.

  • Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
  • Ability to effectively plan and coordinate classroom activities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with both individuals and groups.
  • Strong organizational skills, computer, internet, and email proficiency.
