The Utility Person / Dishwasher is responsible for many duties that impact the guests’ dining experience. Maintaining cleanliness is crucial, as guests often rate it as the most important factor in their decision to return. The Utility Person / Dishwasher must acquire the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform their duties with excellence. Responsibilities include general cleanliness inside and outside the restaurant, with dishwashing being an integral part of the role.

• Provide clean, sparkling silverware and dishes to guests.
• Clean the interior of the restaurant to ensure a pleasant, safe environment for guests and co-workers.
• Maintain cleanliness around the outside of the building and parking lot.
• Check, clean, and restock restrooms.
• Empty trash into the dumpster and keep the dumpster, trash cans, and back dock area clean.
• Thoroughly clean and organize the utility area.
• Follow the duty roster, ensuring cleanliness, service, and quality standards are met.
• Adhere to local health department laws.

• Stock cook, line, and server areas with appropriate glasses, silverware, and dishes.
• Maintain organization, speed, and cleanliness.
• Report equipment and facility issues to the manager.

• Follow position responsibilities to ensure just-in-time delivery of service.
