Overview
RN Emergency Department - FT Nights at Northwest Health. This role provides patient-centered care in the Emergency Department, coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and compassionate support for patients and families.

Job Details- Status: Full Time
- Shift: Nights
- Job Summary: The Registered Nurse provides patient-centered care through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation). Coordinates and delivers high-quality care based on clinical protocols and orders. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and positive outcomes.
- Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings; report changes to the care team.
- Provide age-appropriate care and education using knowledge of human development.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration.
- Assist physicians during procedures within scope of competency.
- Collaborate to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions (e.g., CPR, code team).
- Advocate for patient rights and involve patients and families in care planning.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols; monitor and operate medical equipment as needed.
- Maintain patient safety and a clean, safe environment; participate in audits and compliance checks.
- Document care and education thoroughly in the medical record; engage in ongoing professional development.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.
- Emergency Services RN: rapid assessment and triage, manage emergency procedures, stabilize patients as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
- RN - Registered Nurse state licensure and/or Compact State licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred
- Refer to facility or unit-specific guidelines for additional requirements
