Safety Supervisor (Manufacturing/Industrial Safety Exp. Req.) Description
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Safety Supervisor to add to their team located in Fayetteville, NC. In this role, you will support workplace safety initiatives within a 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with approximately 100 employees. The ideal candidate will have hands-on safety experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment and be comfortable spending most of their time on the production floor engaging with employees, reinforcing safe practices, and addressing potential hazards.
To be successful, you must have strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, the ability to investigate incidents and develop safety plans, and the confidence to collaborate cross-functionally with HR and operational leaders. - Spend ~70% of time on the production floor reinforcing safe work practices
- Build a proactive safety culture through daily engagement with employees
- Identify hazards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards
- Conduct safety observations, walkthroughs, and employee safety discussions
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and document findings
- Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Partner with HR and leadership to implement safety programs and procedures
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and employee awareness initiatives
- Track safety metrics and identify improvement opportunities
- Coordinate responses to safety issues and workplace incidents
- Support regulatory inspections and internal safety audits
- Assist with new employee safety orientation and onboarding
- Safety training through a degree program or internal manufacturing safety training is required
- 4+ years of safety experience within industrial or manufacturing environments is required
- OSHA certification is required
- Ability to occasionally oversee second shift and Saturday (Paid OT) operations is required
- Ability to be on call to address safety issues when they arise is required
- Ability to work 100% on-site is required
