Job Summary
The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment. Administer all work yard operations and ensure compliance with safety policies. Maintain and implement yard organization plan for storage of product. Maintain optimal level of customer and company staff in all yard operations. Train staff to develop and achieve all work objectives and evaluate performance on a regular basis.
Ensure proper handling of all materials and store them appropriately. Monitor loading of product to ensure safe transport to job sites. Monitor work of employees and initiate discipline as required.
- Assist the Plant Manager in performing all tasks necessary to ensure that all vehicles and drivers are safe and in compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies
- Maintain the yard in an orderly fashion
- Ensure all product is stored in the correct location and dunnage is properly placed
- Schedule workload and coordinate daily delivery schedules based on sales requests for product and product availability
- Verify all loads are loaded and dunnage is properly placed
- Verify all erection materials are shipped to job sites as required
- Work closely with the production team to determine items ready for delivery
- Operate heavy equipment as needed
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel on receiving items
- Conduct daily cycle counts of inventory and OPC items
- Assist in locating items in the yard
- Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years of experience in a related industry preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Good attendance and positive attitude a must
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the day
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
