** Opportunity
* * This is a critical leadership role responsible for advancing the University’s global ambitions across education, research, engagement and reputation. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global, Culture and Engagement), the PVC Global will work in close collaboration with academic and professional colleagues to enable and amplify the global aspirations of faculties and portfolios. It is a key enabling role to support the university to translate global ambition into impactful outcomes including student mobility experiences, transnational education models, partnerships and collaboration and external engagement.
The role provides strategic leadership to strengthen the University’s international positioning, deepen a focused set of high value global partnerships, and ensure that global activity across the institutions is coherent, sustainable and aligned with the University priorities.
As a core member of the Global, Culture and Engagement (GCE) leadership team, the PVC Global will actively scan the global environment for emerging trends and use this insight to support the University to remain agile, globally competitive, and future focused.
This is a full-time leadership role (0.8 FTE as PVC and 0.2 as a Professor in the Faculty or alternate role) for a 2-year term.

** You are a senior academic leader with a deep understanding of international higher education and a strong record of academic excellence. You bring strategic judgement. Global perspective and the ability to work across organisational boundaries to support the university in achieving its international goals.
As PVC Global you will:
* Act as a strategic connector between Faculties, Chancellery portfolios and external partners, enabling coordinated and high impact global engagement.
* Provide leadership in consolidating existing global priorities while progressing new opportunities that deliver institutional benefit.
* Lead and collaborate to deliver forward-looking strategies that strengthen international partnerships, global student recruitment, and student mobility.
* Drive implementation of the University’s internationalisation strategy, Advancing Melbourne Globally, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and clear reporting against strategic commitments.
You are influential, collaborative and future focused, with the credibility to represent the University globally and the leadership capability to support others to succeed
** About Global, Culture and Engagement
** The Global, Culture and Engagement portfolio within the Chancellery Division is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Culture and Engagement). Its role is to lead, convene and collaborate with our local and global communities to position our institution as a national, regional, and global destination and partner of choice. The portfolio specifically contributes to:
* Global partnerships to support and strengthen the University’s engagement and relationships with key stakeholders.
* International student diversification strategy to ensure our students have rich experiences and graduates form a strong global network.
