Summary ofJob Duties
The Executive Director for University Housing provides strategic leadership and direction for a comprehensive housing and residential life program for more than 7,000 students across 26 facilities totaling over a million managed square feet, more than 250 staff members, and an annual operating budget of more than $50 million. The Executive Director administers and manages all aspects of the student housing program for the University with a deep commitment to student success, the student experience, belonging and the living-learning experience, in a manner that bolsters the University's mission and strong commitment to belonging and community.
The Executive Director is responsible for departmental operations; budget oversight; staff engagement and development; goal setting; strategic planning encompassing organization, programming, and physical infrastructure; complex assessment efforts; and establishing learning outcomes and innovative implementation strategies to ensure the department advances the University and Division's strategic priorities. Collaboration and communication are essential to the role. The Executive Director works closely with Enrollment Services, University Dining, Facilities Management, University Information Technology, University Police Department, and programs within Student Success.
The Executive Director reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Well-being and serves on the Division of Student Affairs leadership team. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, College Student Personnel, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least ten years of progressive leadership experience in college or university student housing
- At least seven years of direct supervisory experience, including full-time professional staff with a focus on financial stewardship, facility renewal and planning
- Demonstrated experience in crisis response, Title IX, student conduct, and behavioral interventions in a residential community
- Doctorate or terminal Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
