Overview

The Nursing Home Wound Care Advanced Practitioner (AP) is a skilled clinical professional, such as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), specializing in wound assessment and management in a long‑term care setting. Their key goals include reducing wound complications, enhancing care quality, preventing hospitalizations, and decreasing costs. Excellent communication, leadership, and technology skills are essential, along with physical ability to respond to resident needs.
