Sr Structural Engineer (Data Centers) – Jacobs

This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.

Base Pay Range

$/yr – $/yr

About the Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocation, and more. You will perform various aspects of structural engineering assignments, increasing your familiarity with design methods and tools while collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and designers on capital projects. You’ll liaise with internal professionals, coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices domestically and internationally, and have opportunities for technical and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of structural analyses
  • Create and maintain computer models for structures
  • Conduct member design and foundation calculations
  • Prepare material take‑offs for estimating
  • Support miscellaneous calculations and scheduling
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of professional structural engineering experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with ability to become registered in additional states
  • Knowledge of CAD software:
    AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13 and other industry design codes
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Teams
  • Ability to travel 10–20% to client sites
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with industrial metals projects (casting, rolling, heavy industry)
  • Leadership experience delivering on schedule and within budget while meeting quality and client expectations
