Job Type: Salaried, Full-Time
Job Description: Fayetteville Public Schools is seeking a creative, collaborative, and student-centered elementary school Music teacher to join the faculty at Root Elementary School. This position will support students in grades K-4 with their introduction to music and development as young musicians.
The ideal candidate will foster students' growth through high-quality instruction in a positive, organized, and enthusiastic learning environment in alignment with Arkansas Department of Education General Music Standards. This position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, in working within Root Elementary and across campuses and within the district Elementary Music team and Department of Fine Arts.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing daily instruction in Music to students grades K-4 at Root Elementary
- Responsible use of instruction budget and resource management as they relate to the needs of the music classroom
- Providing, Coordinating, and Overseeing performance opportunities for students in all grade levels, including but not limited to in-school performances and after school programs
- Participating in building-level and community events, and embracing school theme and culture
- Supporting building level needs as required by principals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field (required)
- Valid Arkansas teaching license in Music, or the ability to obtain one (required)
- Experience working or teaching elementary students in a music setting
- Strong knowledge of music pedagogy, development, and performance techniques
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative learning environment
- Full-time position aligned with the Fayetteville Public Schools academic calendar and after school responsibilities as they relate to program and building needs
