Interim Montessori Primary Lead Guide (Ages 2.5–5)

Full-Time Faculty | Immediate Start – Contract Through End of 2025–2026 School Year

Fayetteville Montessori School seeks a Montessori-trained Primary Lead Guide to join our community immediately and lead a 2.5–5 year-old classroom through the remainder of the school year. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator to step into a well-established environment and continue the important work of guiding children toward independence, concentration, and a love of learning — with the potential for a full contract for the 2026–2027 school year.

Established in 1974, Fayetteville Montessori is a year-round school serving children from 6 weeks through Elementary in 29 classrooms. Through carefully prepared environments and mixed-age groupings, students receive a hands‑on, child‑centered education guided by highly skilled Montessori educators.

The Interim Primary Lead will:

• Provide consistency, stability, and joyful leadership for an established classroom community
• Uphold the integrity of the Montessori work cycle and prepared environment
• Partner closely with administration and the Primary team to ensure a smooth and supported transition

• Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field preferred)
• Montessori Primary credential (AMS, AMI, or MACTE) — in progress or experienced candidates considered
• Experience in a Primary (3–6) Montessori classroom
• Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
• Warm, collaborative, and flexible with a “can‑do” spirit
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

• Maintain a prepared Montessori Primary environment that supports independence and purposeful work
• Follow the established Montessori scope and sequence
• Ensure the safety, well‑being, and normalization of the classroom community
• Model grace and courtesy and peaceful conflict resolution
• Collaborate with the Primary team and administration
• Communicate consistently with families through conferences, reports, and daily interactions
• Utilize Brightwheel for lesson planning, record keeping, and parent communication
• Participate in faculty meetings, team meetings, and professional development
• Support parent education and school community events
• Remain student‑centered, collaborative, and innovative

• A supportive administrative and Primary team structure
• A well‑resourced Montessori environment
• Established classroom systems and community
• The opportunity to transition into a full contracted Lead Guide role for 2026–2027

Primary Guides can expect to:

• Work in a traditional, climate‑controlled classroom with daily outdoor time
• Sit on the floor, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the environment
• Lift and carry materials and occasionally up to 30 lbs
• Supervise and actively engage with children and families
