Summary ofJob Duties
The Educational Leadership (EDLE) Program in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, and Research Methods in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas seeks a dynamic, innovative, collaborative, and enthusiastic colleague to work with current faculty in preparing K-12 leaders across three graduate degree programs (school-level leadership master’s, district-level leadership educational specialist, and doctorate in educational leadership).
The program seeks applicants with extensive experience as educational leaders at both building and district levels and who can connect practice to teaching and scholarship. The role includes a significant doctoral advisory load and chairing doctoral-level dissertation committees. All three graduate programs are offered synchronously online; a consistent campus presence is expected to fulfill responsibilities such as curriculum design and implementation, chairing and serving on dissertation committees, contributing to program initiatives (student recruitment, admissions, and assessment), and building partnerships with schools and districts throughout Arkansas.
The Professor of Practice will collaborate with faculty to assist in program coordination. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to foster collegial working relationships are essential duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an accredited university in educational leadership or related field
- Experience with school district level administration
- A substantial and sustained record of distinguished accomplishments as a practitioner
- Evidence and/or promise of effective teaching and advising
- Evidence of sustained and substantial service to the profession
- Evidence of the ability to provide students with a deep understanding of the practical application of a particular field of study
- Evidence of integration of academic scholarship with practical experience
- Evidence of national and/or significant regional recognition by peers as demonstrated through professional stature, outreach, professional service, and/or scholarship and its practical application
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching educational leadership
- Experience teaching and mentoring graduate students in an online environment in educational leadership
- Experience mentoring doctoral students in educational leadership
