Overview
Lead Career Consultant in Walton Career Connections provides guidance, coaching, programming, and education to Walton students through consulting, collaboration with employers, and identification of industry trends. This role will manage a portfolio of undergraduate and graduate students, collaborating with the Career Connections team and academic departments on programming and tracking outcomes. Additionally, the Lead Career Consultant will supervise the other Career Consultants on the team, supporting their development, setting strategy, ensuring quality and consistency of services, and helping balance team workload and priorities.
Responsibilities- Provide in-person support of programming/events during office hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, and occasional evenings and weekends (less than 10 evenings or weekends per semester).
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and foster collegial, harmonious working relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human resources, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least five years of professional work experience that includes recruiting or career development for corporate functions or relevant recruiting experience for corporate clients
- Knowledge of career fields within business education (Accounting and Finance;
Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management and CPG;
Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship; Economics and Information Systems; MBA and Specialty Master’s Programs) - Experience with resume writing, interviewing and job search skills
- Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
- Must be able to provide in-person support during office hours and occasional evenings/weekends
- Master’s degree in business, marketing, human resources or related field
- Knowledge of job search and process management
- Experience with pivot tables in Excel for data analysis
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas) and/or Career Services platforms (e.g., Handshake, VMock)
- Experience working with students in a higher education environment

- Project management abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to develop effective presentations for large audiences
- Salary Information: $65,000-$75,000
