Position Type: Adjunct Faculty (Part‑time, Remote)

Location: Remote;
Candidates must be eligible to work full‑time in one of the following states: AR, AL, AZ, DE, FL, GA, KS, IA, , IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WY.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all University policies as provided in the University Catalog and Faculty Handbook.
  • Provide instruction in accordance with the University and within the scope of departmentally‑defined courses, programs of study, and degrees.
  • Interact with students in a timely manner and provide substantive feedback on student work.
  • Offer weekly office hours and communicate via email, live‑chat, or other timely methods with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in shared governance of curriculum and, where applicable, contribute to curriculum development.
  • Attend training on necessary technologies to facilitate courses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the field of study and develop professionally in content, methodologies, and distance‑learning strategies.
  • Work independently and make decisions using exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records for the learning management system and University records system.
  • Participate actively in faculty development opportunities (internally and externally).
  • Provide feedback concerning student and faculty issues and support the University’s philosophy to create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with students through forums, recorded videos, and other online engagement.
  • Notify appropriate University administrators of course or administrative issues in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (required for undergraduate teaching) or PhD (required for graduate teaching).
  • Relevant certifications, if applicable.
  • Five years of professional experience.
  • Enrollment and successful completion of the Faculty Orientation Training Course.
  • Online teaching experience preferred.
  • Degrees conferred from an institution accredited by a U.S. accreditation agency (or appropriately approved foreign institution).
  • Student‑centered instructional philosophy.
  • Curriculum development experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and internet research.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard Learning Management System preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and technicians.
  • Knowledge and use of distance‑learning educational models required.
  • High‑speed Internet and a webcam are required.
  • Flexible work schedule and ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Background checks and verification of legal work authority required.
  • Additional non‑technical skills: language, mathematical, reasoning as described in the original posting.
