SUMMARY

The Senior Benefits Account Manager is a vital contributor to the client services team. The successful candidate will have strong experience in employee benefits insurance account (broker) support and serve as a lead or expert “power user” for a given account team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Data Entry
  • Utilize agency management systems to conduct data entry
Documentation
  • Enter client data into Benefit Point adequate to complete RFP’s, Prospect/Opportunity Report, and update Client Rates and Plans tab within 5 workdays of client acceptance of renewal or new business presentation
Customer Service
  • Provide support for Account Executive through duties and responsibilities listed in this Job Description and Benefits Timeline
  • Research and answer questions regarding benefit plans, claims and billings for client, update Benefit Point activities and adhere to the Benefits Timeline
  • Assist bSwift team with setup of client web site as directed by Benefits Operations Manager
  • Maintain online client binder per department guidelines
  • Coordinate workflows per activities created in Benefit Timeline
  • Act as a lead for other Account Managers in the absence of the Account Executive
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert, demonstrating superior skills and proficiencies with internal procedures and systems
  • Liaison for other Account Managers on coverages and processes
  • Take lead on quality check/training of new colleagues
  • Demonstrate strong cooperation and effective communication with clients, vendors and co-workers
Marketing
  • Create and release RFPs to Carriers by due date as per Benefit Timeline
  • Create and maintain marketing binder per Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure they have all information needed to quote, submit any missing information, review quotes and verify correctness before deadline
  • Prepare and review spreadsheets for accuracy per Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline
  • Finalize and review Formal Proposal, including any necessary materials and builders
  • Prepare and develop communication booklets per Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline
  • Conduct enrollment meetings as necessary
Reporting
  • Gather and submit data to carriers and compile information for Sr. Account Consultant/Executive Team Lead per Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline
  • Create aggregate reports upon request of Account Executive for client analysis
  • Initiate stewardship reports from workflows and activities in Benefit Point
  • Submit Medicare Part D disclosure letters to client per Benefit Timeline
  • Compile and submit Schedule A’s to client per Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline
  • Prepare Annual Notices for Mail/E‑mail/Distribution
Technical Expertise
  • Complete Bisys Correspondence courses for major lines of business
  • Participate in GBA certification
  • Complete 12 hours of CE via EBIA Webinars
  • Support Sr. Account Consultant or Account Executive as directed
  • Demonstrate success servicing multiple client renewals under mentorship of Trainer
REQUIREMENTS
  • College Degree Preferred
  • Obtain Group 1 License within 6 weeks of hire
  • 2+ years as an Assistant AM/Account Manager at MMA preferred
  • Strong comprehension of contract requirements
  • Bilingual Spanish a major plus
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize work, and basic word processing and spreadsheet computer skills
  • Effective communication with clients, vendors and co‑workers
  • Problem‑solving, confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity and tactfulness in client service
  • Operational knowledge of Windows‑based application programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and current Internet technologies
  • Willingness to work overtime due to cyclical nature of business (primarily August thru December)
  • Master all Account Manager duties and demonstrate proficiency in researching and accessing best‑practice documentation
