We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and our service department, ensuring that every customer receives exceptional service from start to finish. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and technical knowledge to effectively translate vehicle needs into understandable terms for customers while coordinating with technicians to deliver high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a welcoming and trustworthyenvironment.
- Listen to customer concerns, accurately document service requests, and provide repair/service recommendations.
- Communicate with technicians to determine necessary repairs, maintenance, and cost/time estimates.
- Present service estimates, explain recommended services, and obtain customer approval.
- Maintain strong product and service knowledge to answer questions and guide customers through decisions.
- Schedule service appointments and ensure timely workflow in the shop.
- Provide updates to customers throughout the repair process and notify them of any changes.
- Review completed work with customers, explain invoices, and handle payments.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by delivering exceptional service.
- Ensure all documentation, records, and work orders are accurate and complete.
- Promote dealership/service specials and upsell additional services when appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in automotive service a plus.
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in automotive customer service preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and services (or willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner.
- Proficiency in service management software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A customer-first mindset with a focus on building trust and loyalty.
