The role of an Activities Coordinator at Agincare Homes Holdings involves designing and organizing engaging activities and events for residents in their care homes. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and will be responsible for providing companionship, planning social events, and supporting residents with their mobility and independence through various activities.

Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a diverse range of activities and events for the residents of the Tilford Care and Nursing Home. Your role will include providing companionship, designing engaging activity plans, organizing events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties, communicating with residents to understand their interests, and liaising with external entertainers or businesses to arrange visits and outings.

You will also support residents with their mobility and independence through activities like Zumba, ballroom dancing, and balloon tennis.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • Previous experience required in organising activities or in an activities type role
  • Must be flexible to work 40 hours per week, including alternate weekends

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

  • Companionship - providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
  • Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
  • Event planning - our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
  • Resident interaction - you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
  • External communications - as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
  • Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
  • Social activities - trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in organizing activities or in an activities-related role is required. A minimum of 12 months' right to work in the UK is also necessary.
