About the Role

Our client, a respected name in the power generation and plant machinery industry, is seeking a skilled Generator Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working both in the field and workshop, providing hands-on technical support to a loyal customer base.

The successful Generator Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a range of generator machinery across the region, ensuring equipment remains in peak operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a range of generator machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve both mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
• Service and repair associated equipment on customer sites and in the workshop.
• Deliver a high standard of technical support and customer service.
• Accurately complete service reports, timesheets, and documentation.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
• Represent the company professionally, maintaining positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Work independently or as part of a team to achieve service targets.

Skills & Experience Required

• Electrically and mechanically qualified with strong diagnostic abilities.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Generator Service Engineer.
• Knowledge of engines, alternators, control panels, and wiring diagrams.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and service reporting systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
