Our client is a well‑established and highly respected Design & Build contractor delivering premium commercial fit‑outs and complex commercial‑to‑residential conversions across the South East. With a strong project footprint west of London and along the M3/M4 corridors, they are expanding their technical team and seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to support a growing pipeline of high‑profile schemes.
This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging, design‑led projects from heritage refurbishments and commercial fit outs to large‑scale office‑to‑residential conversions. You'll join a collaborative, forward‑thinking team where technical excellence and creative problem‑solving are at the heart of every project.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Design Packages:
Lead the production of detailed RIBA Stage 3-5 drawings and specifications for major conversion projects, including multi‑unit residential schemes. - Heritage & Listed Buildings:
Manage the complexities of Listed Building Consent, coordinating with heritage bodies to ensure sensitive, compliant interventions. - Project Delivery:
Support full turn‑key design & build programmes, overseeing technical coordination for internal layouts, external refurbishments, and building services integration. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all designs meet UK Building Regulations, fire safety standards, and NHBC warranty requirements. - Collaborative Design:
Work closely with interior designers and workplace consultants to deliver visually striking, commercially robust environments.
- Experience:
3-5+ years in commercial fit‑out or multi‑unit residential conversion. - Software:
Advanced AutoCAD proficiency essential;
Revit/3D visualisation experience highly advantageous. - Technical Strength:
Strong understanding of building physics, CDM 2015, and the challenges of adapting existing commercial structures. - Professionalism:
Detail‑driven, organised, and confident managing multiple fast‑paced projects.
