San Juan College is seeking a well-qualified and highly motivated individual for this full-time, 9 month position of Instructor of Math Education to begin Fall 2026.

The instructor in this position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Humanities and will teach 15 load hours per semester of Ceramics courses and perform other teaching related duties.
MAJOR DUTIES
  • The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Science, Math, and Engineering and will teach 15 credit hours per semester of Math for Teachers and General Education Math courses.
  • Responsibilities will also include organizing and maintaining curricula in mathematics; developing and revising instructional materials as appropriate; keeping student records; assisting in recommending and orienting part-time faculty; and working with college councils and committees as assigned.
  • The instructor will maintain a minimum of five office hours per week.
  • Day and evening classes can be expected. Will be required to teach at the satellite campuses as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's Degree in Mathematics Education is required. Candidates who hold a master's degree in Mathematics will be considered if they have experience teaching Math for Teachers courses and/or experience teaching in K-12 schools.
  • Access to home internet, a personal computer, and telephone is required.
  • Demonstrate skill and willingness to learn and use multiple technology platforms to communicate with students.
  • The successful candidate will have a multicultural perspective with adult/minority students; and have a high energy level along with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy.
