Responsibilities
Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers get the products they want and need.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.Check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates, taking appropriate action.Use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots properly.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.Understand store layout to locate products for customers.Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.Monitor inventory levels and note any discrepancies.Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.Create a welcoming environment for customers and foster trust among associates.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment
