Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
  • Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers get the products they want and need.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates, taking appropriate action.
  • Use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots properly.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
  • Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
  • Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and note any discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and foster trust among associates.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Position Qualifications:
    • Customer Service skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Knowledge of basic math
    • Ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment
