Assistant Store Manager

Job Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence or opposing shifts, and lead the store team members in servicing customers.

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours (lunch, late afternoon, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring training is current.
• Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management on qualified selections.
• Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers upon shipment arrival as needed.
• Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly in the returns area.
• Invoicing of all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure team members comply with company policies, posted work schedules, and clock‑in/out procedures.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying deposits, preparing bank deposits, securing building and delivery vehicles, and managing security alarms.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
