Job Summary: Operations Quality has an opening for a Factory Quality Engineer who will interface with the factory teams supporting production, first article inspections, creating/maintaining work/inspection instructions, and preparation for audits. The position is based in Farmington, NM and is an on-site position.
Note: This position is located at the Raytheon Dine Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX-Dine Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.
What You Will Do- Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies.
- Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
- Facilitate and lead cross‑functional teams in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non‑conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB).
- Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non‑conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary.
- Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management.
- Develop and maintain inspection instructions, ensuring they meet the technical data package requirements and production needs.
- Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
- Daily status meetings with factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issues.
- Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely disposition of red rack items.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience using quality tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
- Manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection or test functions.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, process disciplines, and tool control.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, handling difficult conversations, and working well with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams in auditing processes and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers.
- Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Six Sigma or ASQ certification.
- Data analysis; development and usage of actionable metrics.

Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. This range is a good‑faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
