Job Title: Social Service Assistant and Receptionist
Location: Cedar Ridge Inn - Farmington, NM
Status: Full-Time
Reports To: Social Services/Administrator
Position Summary: Cedar Ridge Inn is a 101-bed skilled and long term nursing facility dedicated to providing exceptional care to residents in a safe, welcoming environment. We are seeking a dependable and professional Social Service Assistant and Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers while supporting resident safety and facility operations as well as assisting the Social Service Director with duties.
This role combines front desk responsibilities with administrative support in Social Services, contributing to the overall efficiency and hospitality of the facility.
Social Service Assistant Duties:
- Will work closely with Social Services Director, helping with assessments, interviews.
- Interview residents or family members as necessary to obtain social history.
- Provide information to resident/families as to Medicare/Medicaid and other
- Assist in arranging transportation for appointments when necessary.
- Attend person centered care plans when need.
Front Desk & Reception Duties:
- Warmly greet and assist visitors, families, vendors, and staff upon entry.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor lobby area to ensure resident safety, including awareness of unauthorized exits.
- Maintain visitor logs and enforce sign-in protocols in compliance with facility policies.
- Provide general information and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments.
Resident Safety Monitoring:
- Ensure residents are not left unattended in lobby or reception areas.
- Observe and report any concerning behaviors or safety risks to the charge nurse leadership.
- Uphold facility policies regarding resident confidentiality and safe discharge procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a front desk, receptionist, or clerical role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Familiarity with phone systems, email, and basic office equipment.
- Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly and those in a healthcare setting.
- Monday thru Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (subject to minor adjustment based on operational needs)
- Additional hours may be available to cover holidays or staff absences.
