• Days: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
• Evenings: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Laundry Assistant —

• Loads articles into washer and dryer
• Soaks contaminated articles per policy
• Sort dried articles by identification numbers and type; fold and place items into appropriate bins
• Lubricate machines
• Mend torn articles; sort and count to verify quantities on laundry lists
• Iron required items
• Mixes dyes and bleaches according to formula; dyes specific articles
• Able to read and understand equipment operation manuals
• Performs duties in a manner that optimizes resident safety
• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality; ensures sanitation and quality standards are met; able to follow written and oral instructions
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Follow ALL infection control procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally with different levels of staff, patient families and any outside customers
• Willingness to meet physical demands; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
• Frequently stand and walk for long periods; routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to utilize a computer, phone, etc. for extended periods
• Exposure to blood or other bodily fluids or airborne pathogens and caustic chemicals; take appropriate precautions
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
• Organization and management skills; basic computer skills
