Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting audits and reporting activities. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical abilities and a passion for accuracy.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with monthly financial close processes and consolidate subsidiary financial information into corporate reports.

- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate quarterly and annual audits.

- Ensure daily compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

- Set and monitor standard costs for subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

- Support the Accounting Manager with various accounting tasks and provide guidance to operational teams.

- Review and analyze job expenses, work-in-process, inventory counts, and percentage completion on a weekly basis.

- Coordinate job costing and closures between accounting and operations teams to maintain financial integrity.

- Prepare monthly inventory and job reports for integration into consolidated financial statements.

- Participate in annual budgeting processes and contribute to fiscal planning.

- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to financial standards. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Epicor, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial or project analysis roles.

- Exceptional data management and analytical skills.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Familiarity with accounting databases and tools, with a commitment to accuracy.
